Light Lover | Melbourne Photographer
Putting my work out there and submitting to competitions is something I put a lot of thought into and there are many that I choose not to submit to. I go through a process of doing some research and asking myself a lot of questions and I choose the competitions I submit to carefully. Why do I want to submit in the first place??? Is it just an ego boost or will winning an award do something for my work? Is this competition relevant to my work? ⠀
I'm a slightly obsessive light lover (or probably more accurately, massively obsessive😆). Light plays an incredibly important, and huge role in my work, so when I saw two calls related to light, I knew they were the perfect fit.
Within days of each other I heard that I will have an image in the @photoplacegallery Magic of Light Exhibition and an image printed in @photocereal Volume 2. Diminishing Light magazine. To have my work be included in both is something I never expected and beyond an honour!⠀⠀⠀⠀
Unfortunately I can't be there in person but if you're in Middlebury, VT you can check out the Magic of Light Exhibition from 3-26 March or view it online here.
Photo Cereal is available for pre-purchase, so if you'd like a copy full of diminishing light goodness, tap the link to order your copy here.⠀
This light lover is feeling quite humbled and equally a bit proud.
Thank you to the organisers, the judges and a HUGE congratulations to the other photographers included!
