It's Me, Jenny!

Whether it is in your home, at the beach, at a local coffee shop, or in another intimate setting, I want you to feel as comfortable as possible so you forget I am there. You are free to be messy. You are free to take your shoes off. Want a wine during your session? I’m game!

Cheers to documenting your unique story!

What sparked the idea for my business? Two words: love and memories.

when someone asks me what i do for a living, it’s tempting to simply respond with, “i’m a photographer.” But i know deep down that doesn’t encompass what i do. really, i should say i’m a time stopper, a storyteller, someone who captures real life, real love, and real memories.

My favourite thing about being a photographer is creating a time capsule full of memories. There are no do-overs when it comes to time. We can’t revisit yesterday, last year or those days when are babies were still babies, which is why capturing our moments today so we have them for our memories later is SO important to me. The value of a photograph only grows with time.

THIS is why I do what I do.

I’m a wife to a pretty great guy, a mom to three amazing children, who keep me on my toes (and pretty busy!), and am a Melbourne storytelling photographer.

I love capturing real and honest emotions and the details in the everyday moments. I love photographing the connections amongst families. I love capturing authenticity. I look for the smiles, giggles, cuddles, secret sideway glances, tears, and comforting hugs. It’s my goal to make images that make you feel something. To make images that are timeless, honest and real.

ONE OF MY STORIES

We have a dedicated playroom where the toys are meant to live in our house, and this is not that room. Our house goes from clean to a mess in about 60 seconds. We have a sofa that is referred to as the ‘the laundry sofa’ where a permanent mountain of laundry resides. Our daughter likes to climb into any box, basket, cupboard or bag that she can fit into. And our son is a climber and likes to destroy what is left of our sofa on a regular basis. Some may find an image like this embarrassing, but these are the images that I love to capture the most. These are my memories.

I made this image four years ago and it means the world to me now and I know it will mean even more in the years to come. The laundry might always be there, but the toys and the messes won’t last forever, the chaos with the kids will change to life with teenagers, and this scene will look completely different in the not too distant future. This is why I photograph the way I do. These are the memories I don’t want to slip away. These the details I want to hold onto forever.
