'This Time, Last Year' Frankston Arts Centre Exhibition | Melbourne Photographer

When I announced The Year We Stayed Home project, I wasn't sure how it would be received, but the response was pretty overwhelming and nothing but supportive. 

I started this project as a way to give back to my community. My hope was that families would be able to look back at these portraits and remember that year, The Year We Stayed Home. Although it was stressful at times and not always easy, I wanted people to remember the closeness we felt as families in our homes. 

It was such an absolute honour, and complete surprise, when the Frankston Arts Centre reached out to use some of the images from my project for their This Time, Last Year Exhibition. 

And here we are, a year later and the exhibition is finally here!

This Time, Last Year is a multidisciplinary art exhibition featuring the works from The Year We Stayed Home, as well as work from fellow photographer Lisa Atkinson, a time capsule, celebration and memorial all rolled into one, showcasing the wider Frankston Community running from the 13th May - 10 July 2021.

I captured Spiderman, kids in their pj's, a fair amount of sequins, kids on rollerblades, bikes and scooters, toilet paper, a bit of active wear and comfy clothes, a few cocktails, lots of rainbows, soft toys, furry family members, and whole lot of LOVE!
